Historical Society

The Thorp Mill Town Historical Preservation Society was first formed in 1987 by a group of Thorp citizens who were interested in restoring the North Star Mill, which had sat vacant since the end of War World II and was starting to deteriorate. After several years of fundraising and hard work, the mill was opened as a museum in 1993 and now serves as both an interpretive historical site and as a gathering place for community activities.
